How much will a new Whatcom County jail cost?

A preliminary estimate based on projected use identifies $137 million as a potential figure to build a new, horizontal jail/behavioral care center on LaBounty Drive.

The Yes! Safe Jail Healthy Outcomes committee is using a working number of $150 million as we expect inflation to raise costs by the time of build-out (expected to be 2026).
