Grace and Accountability for Whatcom County Jail
From Western Washington University’s official website:
The Sheriff's Office has responsibility for covering over 2150 square miles (equivalent to the size of the State of Delaware). In addition to law enforcement/investigative services, the Sheriff's Office operates two corrections facilities, is responsible for the service of civil process and provides county-wide emergency management services.
Doug Chadwick
Current under sheriff and 29 year veteran of the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office Doug Chadwick explains how we must find a balance between grace and accountability if we want to see a Whatcom County flourish. Chadwick endorses Bellingham’s Prop 4 which is looking to increase Whatcom County jail’s overall safety for both law enforcement and inmates currently serving there.
Both grace and accountability can be found in the services and programs allotted for the creation of a contemporary Whatcom County jail.
